The Review

Evening guys... Sorry for being in the dark for quite some time..had my hols u see...anyway, after watching The Dark Knight for 5 times(yes it's that good)..i think it's about time for me to express my humble opinion on the movie. Feel free to agree or disagree....

During the first screening of the show, I was pretty nervous to watch it for my expectations were really high since to me, Batman Begins was an excellent movie because it returned to the original story of batman unlike any other batman movies we've seen.

The Dark Knight was actually made famous by none other than Frank Miller. In 1986 he created a comic called " The Dark Knight Returns" and introduced to the world a more darker and intense Batman.

Christopher Nolan the director and writer of the movie followed closely to Frank Miller's version. Not necessarily the story but rather the theme of the movie. The lightings were created in a such dark colour that it makes us more focused on the message and that to me was brilliant. Plus he introduced us 2 main villains in the movie - the Joker and 2face. Now if the joker is in a batman movie, that would be more than enough to handle because you can explore so much of his unique relationship with batman... but Mr. Nolan connected the joker with the fall of heroism from Harvey Dent to 2face was not just fantastic but also memorable. The script to me was nothing like we've seen in any other batman movies before(including Batman Begins). In The Dark Knight, the words used were more serious and the message itself I thought was even bigger than the movie.

The actors/actresses in the movie did a brilliant job as well. We'll start off with Mr. Ledger.

Heath Ledger - Nicholson's joker is nothing compared to Heath's and those who does not agree can kiss my ass on this. The make up done on him was just CRAZY. He looked really sicked and twisted just like the joker in the comic book. Heath's voice on the character was unique as well and his laughing was just sick. Having to portray the joker is not easy at all because joker is crazy in a freakish and somewhat scary way. For you to be him you need to lose a lot of sleep, cut any social connection that you have with anyone and last but not least get into depression. Only then will you have a small glimpse of what the character is all about. Heath to me did deliver all this in the movie and perhaps even more. In the movie you love him because he's funny but at the same time you hate him because of the level of his cruelty. His joker will be the most memorable one for a long time to come....

Christian Bale - He produces an excellent Bruce Wayne...Unlike Val Kilmer's version that even a baby can tell he's the batman... What annoys me is the deep rough voice of batman. Yes by doing that it separates the two completely but sometimes he looks like he's just trying to hard...chill out man... Other than that to me he does portray the batman's characteristics... Batman is not perfect... he can't possibly do everything perfectly... and Bale does show that even batman have flaws...

Aaron Eckhart - He did a tremendous job on being Harvey Dent and 2face. he made me feel his passion and determination on justice and also the pain of transforming into the famous 2face. His character makes you think...had some things been done differently, would he still be fighting for justice? would he still have turned evil or lose the love of his life?

Gary Oldman - This guy was born to play James Gordan. He looks exactly like Gordan in the comics and his style is the same as the ones I've read. So he did good as well.

Morgan Freeman - His character Lucius Fox, has always been the comics and yes he is the CEO of Wayne Corp but he's not responsible for the creation of batman's suit and toys. Those are created by a guy named Harold who actually lives in the batcave. None the less, to me, Fox plays an important role in the movie because he's there to make sure that even the batman is not above the law. When things get into desperation, sometimes even the good people will lose their mind and do certain things that are not really "legal" or things that might jeopardize the publics safety or security. Fox was there to make sure that even the batman should play by the books no matter how important the agenda is.

Michael Caine - A good Alfred. He's there like a father figure to Bruce and like Fox, Alfred is there to make sure that Wayne doesn't go overboard. That the Batman is actually his second life and not his first. But I thought Alfred could have given more emotional expression especially when Rachel died. He didn't even mourn for her death.

Maggie Gyllenhaal - Delivered a good Rachel. I thought Katie Holmes connected more with the audience though. but Maggie was good as well.

Overall The Dark Knight to me delivered a movie that no other superhero movie ever taken us. Not even spiderman. It was the type of movie everyone could logically relate to in certain ways. As I mentioned, the message of the movie is bigger than the movie itself. If you don't what it is then I would suggest and watch it again. If you haven't then GO AND DO SO!

The long awaited updates for our blog.

Yes ladies and gentleman, we're back in business! or so it seems. I've finally decided to inject back some life into this blog with hopes of updating it frequently in the near future(Thats a friggin lie i know.Least I'll TRY.lol). That aside, I had a smashing time in Malaysia(no, not trying to make you guys jealous.) but at the same time faced a few various calamities though it isn't a cause of concern. DarkKnight was the bomb. period. Movie of the year 2008 candidate? you bet. I apologize for the crappy post but I'm still thinking of a topic to rant about. Perhaps Batman would soon awaken from his closet and start dishing out posts as well while saving the world(G mesti dah kembang). Anywayz, im off. Oh btw, guess what? TULULUP. haha.

The first video is from the latest episode of "so you think you can dance" american version. This is the dance routine of Katee and Joshua dancing with one of my favourite songs "No Air by Chris Brown & Jordin Sparks".. The theme of the song is Joshua will be leaving to Iraq tomorrow and Katee only found out the night before...the dancing moves are just awesome! kudos to the choreographers...

The second video is taken from " Britain's Got Talent". This is the semi-final routine of George Sampson who ended up winning the competition. Bare in mind, he's ONLY 14!
